What is modern geothermal generation?
Anywhere
Heat is hidden in sedimentary and basement rocks. It comes from the planet's core and from radioactive decay in the crust. Its quantity is inexhaustible.
Simple
You extract heat from the rock formations using water through a well, pump it to a heat exchanger, and then transfer it to a secondary circuit. This pushes the generator blades, and that's it: you have electricity.
Stable
A geothermal power plant requires no fuel imports and is unaffected by weather conditions. It is traditionally used to provide baseload power and is ideal for continuous, 24-hour power consumption. The Daur-1 project will be the first geothermal power plant in Kazakhstan.
